The Bureau of Land Management is poised to round up and permanently remove 90 percent of the 500 wild horses who call the Onaqui Mountain Herd Management Area (HMA) home. The mouthpiece for the ranching industry also plans on forcibly drugging some of the mares with the fertility pesticide PZP. Friends of Animals is outraged by the BLM’s extinction plan. Once again the BLM erroneously attributes a disproportionate share of range deterioration in herd management areas to wild horses. There are 11 establishing cattle and sheep grazing allotments in the area covered by the HMA. We submitted these comments: Friends of Animals_Comment Letter_Onaqui HMA_7.11.2018
