We have a huge cheer today for the number one tennis player in the world, Novak Djokovic, who recently debuted his vegan restaurant Eqvita in Monte Carlo where he lives! The menu will include hearty salads, wraps, lasagna, cold pressed juices, and delicious desserts – all cruelty-free!

“Because of my family, I’ve always had a love for food,” Djokovic told Forbes in an interview. “But as an athlete, it became something more—the fuel that determines how I play, how I recover and how alert I am on the court… I attribute a great deal of my professional success to my diet.”

It’s no secret the tennis star has been on a journey to veganism since 2010. The Wall Street Journal even said of his diet shift, “He had an otherworldly season in 2011 and has been the world’s most consistent player since.” Building on this momentum, Djokovic hopes to share his vegan lifestyle at Eqvita with fans and clean eaters alike.

“Eqvita is more than a restaurant”  Djokovic added “It’s a story. A love story to be precise. Pretty much a personal one, since I share it with my Jelena.”

We have no doubt that Eqvita will be a smashing success and inspire many to live a healthy, animal-free life. Want to learn more about adopting a vegan lifestyle?
