Press Conference & Rally on Horses Without Carriages International Day

Please join Friends of Animals and the Coalition to Ban Horse-Drawn Carriages on Saturday, December 5th, at 1pm, as we celebrate the International Day of Recognition for Carriage and Cart Horses around the world at a rally and press conference at Central Park. On this day, cities around the world stand in solidarity in our efforts to win freedom for the horses exploited in the carriage horse industry, and your presence is greatly needed for a unified show of support.

Special guests Council Member Tony Avella, Mary Xanthos, DVM and others will speak to the press and renew demands to end the exploitative and dangerous horse-drawn carriage industry in New York City by passing Council Member Avella’s bill that would ban the industry. We’ll be gathering at the pick-up and drop-off location that all the carriage horses use on their route through the park, so all potential customers and those already taking a ride will be sure to see us and become educated about what this “tourist attraction” is all about.

Important information from a recent investigation will be revealed at this press conference, and we hope that you can be there.

Posters will be provided.

· When: Saturday December 5th @ 1:00 PM

· Where: Central Park South 59th St. north/west corner @ 5th Avenue
