FoA Comments Against FWS Prairie Dog Proposal

Friends of Animals has submitted comments in opposition to a proposal by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to grant authority to Iron County, Utah to kill or displace Utah prairie dogs on upwards of 600 acres over the next three years.

This proposal is on top of the more than 6,000 prairie dogs that FWS already allows local governments and property owners in Utah to kill every year!  And even more shocking is that the citizens of Iron County earlier this year declared an all out war on the Utah prairie dog, asking a court to strip the species of its threatened status under federal law.  You can read our comments here.
