For Immediate Release: February 28, 2012
Contact: Priscilla Feral, President of Friends of Animals
Darien, Connecticut—Friends of Animals will be participating in the First Annual Connecticut Vegetarian and Healthy Living Festival—a two-day event taking place at the Connecticut Convention Center on April 28 from 10 AM — 6 PM & April 29 from 10 AM — 4 PM, 2012. The festival was created to bring together people who care about personal health, the health of animals and the planet we share. The festival will feature renowned authors, vegan chefs, health practitioners and much more.
Priscilla Feral, president of Friends of Animals and author of two vegan cookbooks, will be giving a talk on “Animal Rights and Vegan Cuisine.” There will be a screening of the film A Fall from Freedom—a riveting documentary that exposes the captive whale and dolphin industry which Friends of Animals helped sponsor. Friends of Animals will also have an information table with educational literature, books, and t-shirts. Feral will be available for media interviews.
Vegan food and cruelty-free personal product samples will be available. The festival features yoga teachers, Reiki and holistic care practitioners, as well as free lectures, cooking demonstrations and information on ways to conserver energy and “green” your home/lifestyle. The Connecticut Vegetarian and Healthy Living Festival is for everyone who seeks a healthy lifestyle that respects the earth and all of its inhabitants.
Entrance is free with a non-perishable vegan food item.
