Advocates worldwide are gathering this day, alerting their cities that the world’s largest commercial seal kill is planned to start up again this spring on the ice floes off Newfoundland’s coast. In New York, advocates will gather to at 50th St. & 6th Avenue, (1251 Avenue of the Americas), to demand that Canadian Consulate General Daniel Sullivan and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper call for an immediate end to the slaughter of seals and instead come up with a real economic solution to the financial issues that coastal Canadian residents face.
Posters and informative flyers will be provided for attendees to hand out, and signatures will be gathered on public petitions.
