Wolves Need Your Help NOW

April 11, 2011 | Take Action / Hunting & Wildlife Management / Wolves / Free-Living Animals

The current budget bill before Congress contains a provision that will take gray wolves off the Endangered Species List in Montana and Idaho. Animal advocates only have a short time to speak out. Currently, there isn't a Senator who has introduced an amendment that will remove this deadly rider from the budget bill.

If the budget bill passes, with the delisting language intact, Montana and Idaho wolves will be at the mercy of brutal state management. They will lose all rights to judicial review. In other words, they will be doomed in the Northern Rockies-possibly facing extinction.

The legislation was proposed by Rep. Mike Simpson (R-Idaho) and Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.)-who claim that wolves are preying on livestock and so-called game animals prized by hunters.

Listed below are the phone numbers and contact info for the Senate. Please call not only your own Senators, but every Senate Democrat as many times as you can. Please also pass this information along to other animal advocates. Wolves need every voice possible.

Capital Switchboard Numbers - give the name of the Senator & you will be transferred to their office. You will then either speak to a staff member, or on the weekend "“ to voice mail.

When possible ask to speak to each Senator's environmental aide. This will give you a better chance to get your message across because you will be talking to someone who is familiar with the issue.

I wa shocked when at the end of CBS's Sunday Morning Show this past Sunday (4/10), how many animal and birds (not just wolves) that we take for granted, are on the endangered list. It's a disgrace that we do not protect our most valuable co-inhabitants. Shame on these people who want to destroy our world as we know it today. What will be left for generations to come.

What is this world coming too. Leave our animals alone. It kills me as a person inside. Dont kill our animals. It's their Planet too. :( The goverment is killing the poor and middle class. Leave us and our wildlife alone.

Leave all the animals alone. You people in congress get raises and keep spending money, and the people and animals suffer for it. Put these animals on the endangered list, along with all the animals your killing off. If you people in congress would take a paycut, we'd have money to protect all animals.

DO NOT REPEAT DO NOT take wolves off the endangered species list anywhere. If you people would pay as much attention to things you need to fix 911 and leave alone what you should, we might all be better off

Wolves are being used as scapegoats in this issue. The strategy the wealthy and some politicians are using is easy to figure it out, eradication of wildlife at the same time this unscrupulous sports hunters and fur trappers make millions of dollars, running the hunting industry as a money making machine, that benefit exclusively themselves and a few other people. Some of these politicians listen and serve exclusively big business not regular people. The entire reason we are in the situation we are is because of the commercial hunting industry. So, I say focused on the commercial hunting industry and not on wolf killing. Until we "kill" the commercial hunting industry these massive killing of wolves issue won't go away. The wolves have to kill other animals to eat them to survive that is their nature God made them that way. Our creator made the wolves to be balance among the wildlife, so respect the wolves and leave them alone. Most murder had occurred by some humans criminals rather than by wildlife. The wolves are "unique" and beautiful whether you like or not. Leave the wolves alone and do not use them as scapegoats anymore more.

Why is it when one doesn't understand an animals instinctual behavior one must kill the animal. We seem to forget that the animals were here first and have put up with our intrusion into their hunting grounds for hundreds of years . Now when their space is limited and they do what is natural to them they must be weeded out as if they are not a living breathing feeling being. Please do not allow this to happen, we are not the keepers of this earth..that belongs to a higher power. Hitler tried it and even my own gov't tried it with my people. Stop killing and educate yourselves and leave the wolves alone.

What is man without the beast? If all the beasts were gone, men would die from great loneliness of spirit, for whatever happens to the beasts also happens to man. All things are connected. Whatever befalls the earth befalls the children of the earth. ~~~Chief Seattle~~~

please protect the wolfs

This makes me sick...................... I want to help in anyway I can
